It has been almost two decades since Lion King producer Lebo M and ex-wife Nandi Ndlovu-Goodjohn  lost their son Thembalethu. Thembalethu was just 14 months old when he drowned in a swimming pool at their Dainfern home. This week his mom, businesswoman Nandi penned a long heartfelt poem in honour of Thembalethu.  

TRIBUTE 

"Today is one of those days. The pain of losing a child never goes away. A precious soul that once (always) was mine. It has been almost two decades since you left,' Nandi wrote. She went on to write what she called Thembalethu's favourite poem. "Twinkle Twinkled a Little Star. Oh! how I wonder how you are? Though you're gone, your light forever glows in my heart,' she wrote. Nandi added, "God loved you so much that He called you too soon, but it way way too soon for mommy. Twinkle, twinkled a little star, oh how I wonder where you are? You'll always be my shining star. I know I will hold you in my arms once more someday. RIP my angel, " the poem read. 

THE DROWNING INCIDENT 

According to reports, Nandi and Morake had left their son under the care of their helper. Nandi had gone to attend a funeral in KZN while Morake was conducting Lion King auditions in Melrose Arch, Johannesburg. Thembalethu's body was found floating in the swimming pool by the helper who immediately notified the parents. The helper was later arrested and found guilty of negligence by the Randburg Magistrates Court and released when she paid a R3 000 fine. Although his father, claimed that the boy was sodomised before his death, Nandi refuted the claims saying Morake was trying to discredit her as a mother. 

DIVORCED AND MOVED ON 

The couple divorced in 2007 after Morake accused Nandi of cheating on him with different people. Since then, Morake married Angela Ngani-Casara in 2008, the couple divorced in 2013 only to re-marry in 2015, divorced again in 2017, got married again in 2020 and divorced in 2021. Nandi has been living  in LA where she has since gotten married to a  medical doctor. Sources close to her say she is living her best life with her family. The couple also celebrated their 9th year anniversary together this year. "They are so beautiful together they have a beautiful and simple lifestyle; they forever travel and do things like hiking together, it is beautiful to watch them together,' adds the source.
