With baby number three on the way for singer and songwriter Kelly Khumalo, her sister Zandie cannot wait to hold the new bundle of joy. After three years of not talking to each other, Zandie Khumalo-Gumede and Kelly reunited in the grand finale of the reality show #LifeWithKellyKhumalo while ending her friendship with Wanda Baloyi. Zandie shares her joy of being an aunt again and plans for the year 2023.

WELCOMING THE BUNDLE OF JOY

Kelly announced her pregnancy through pictures on social media showing off her baby bump. Close friends revealed that she had been keeping the pregnancy a secret to protect her family, but said she is overjoyed. Speaking to Zimoja, Kelly's sister, Zandie said she couldn't wait to welcome the baby into the family. The Ikhwela singer is known to be a mother figure to Kelly's kids and she will do the same to the new baby on the way. "I am elated, the baby couldn't have come at a better time,' Zandie says. She was at home in eNquthu, in KwaZulu Natal when Kelly told her the news of her pregnancy. "I love kids, my sister's kids are as good as mine,' Before their fall out, Zandie has always been present in her niece and nephews' lives. "I was very hands-on in raising both Thingo and Christian. So, I would love to do the same here,however, I know it will be a bit tricky since we are now based in different provinces and now have my own family, but I will definitely try.'

LOOKING AHEAD

Last year was a good one for Zandie's career and family life. Her single Ngijabule Kabi went gold. She also gave birth to baby Zenala in September and soon after released her seven-track EP named after her baby. This year she plans to go even bigger and release a full album titled Love Advocate- The 2nd docket. "I'm excited about this one, it's my second full body of work. In 2021 I only released an EP.' Zandie says, "the album has been cooking and simmering for a long time and I can't wait for people to hear it.' On the family front, she is looking forward to building strong relationships and strong bonds with people that matter to her. "I want to be there, be present for myself and them.' She says although not everything went according to plan,the year 2022 was a really good one for both her career and personal front."But this year, I plan to focus on my music.'
