Jazz, opera and gospel singer Gloria Bosman has died. Bosman passed on today at the age of 50.
MUSIC CAREER
Her musical career began at a church choir in Mofolo Soweto. The two time SAMA award winner was then scouted for a production at the Market Theatre in 1993 and later earned a scholarship to study opera at the Pretoria Technikon. Bosman had an illustrious career. She performed in glorious events alongside big names including the late Sibongile Khumalo, Moses Molelekwa, Tananas, Sipho Mabuse, Vusi Mahlasela, Sipho Gumede, Oliver Mtukudzi, Victor Masondo and Hugh Masekela among others. She performed in major South African and overseas events.
GOOD-HEARTED GIANT GONE
Joy of jazz founder Peter Tladi confirmed Bosman's death and said the industry has lost a good-hearted giant. "There will never be one like her' Tladi said. The Bosman's family is yet to release a statement. She is survived by her only daughter and one grandchild.
