Last year, Dr Malinga opened up about losing his furniture to the South African Revenue Services (SARS) last year as he owed the taxman R500 000. He cried while watching them attach his furniture. He said at the time that he was broke with no gigs and no money coming in. Responding to her fellow musician 's outcry, Makhadzi offered to help. But Dr Malinga says he was more humiliated than being helped.
MAKHADZI OFFERING HELP
Celebrities and fans came to his rescue with donations. People donated as little as R10 towards him paying off his bill. Oskido, Black Coffee, and Julius Malema were some of the people who offered a helping hand to get his life back on track. Limpopo singer Ndivhudzannyi Ralivhona, fondly known as Makhadzi asked Dr Malinga to perform at her one-woman concert in Venda, where he could earn something that he can use towards paying his SARS bill. "I would like Dr Malinga to come to perform at my one-woman show. I sent a DM for sure he didn't see it. I really want to support him from the bottom of my heart. Anyone with management contact please DM me,' she wrote on social media. She revealed he has been added to the line-up and promised not to exploit him. "I finally got Dr Malinga. I promise to not exploit him but to share the little I have with him. God must bless and protect us artists we have been going through a lot during Covid-19. We all suffered.'
TREATED LIKE RUBBISH
Dr Malinga has since been criticised by Makhadzi's fans and is being labelled ungrateful after posting that Makhadzi is a user. "Makhadzi, stop using people for your own benefit. God is watching you. Thanks, bye!' he wrote on social media. Speaking to ZiMoja, Dr Malinga says he was treated badly at the Makhadzi concert and he was very disappointed. "Just because she offered to help me with the booking does not mean I must keep quiet about the bad treatment I received at her event.' Dr Malinga says he was paid R35 000 to perform. He used R7000 for petrol for his bus and R2500 to book accommodation which was promised. "I know she doesn't owe me anything and I don't owe her. But she must not pretend to have a good heart. I came to her saying Noma yini my sister, I will take whatever amount you give me, but not bad treatment."
NO VVIP TREATMENT
Dr Malinga says he has tried to protect her by not speaking up but he needs to address the matter as she is ignoring his calls. "When I got to VVIP where all the artistsentered, security blocked me and said I was not allowed to get into VVIP where there was food and drinks. I kept quiet and I stayed at VIP. There was no food or drinks and I ended up buying everything and waited to perform,'Malinga added. After his performance, Dr Malinga told ZiMoja that he was told there was no accommodation for him and his crew and he decided to drive back to Pretoria." I was tired and the one driving I decided to stop to sleep at Warm Baths which cost R2500 each.' Dr Malinga says Makhadzi has not taken his calls since. "She is no longer blue ticking me, she is now grey ticking. I thought we could speak about what happened. I had to leave around 6 PM. I felt like she was doing me a favour. People are saying I am being ungrateful. Just because I am in a financial crisis doesn't mean I should be treated badly. I am still grateful to people for donating, but I will not sell my soul and allow people to treat me like that. People have helped me, but never treated me like that.' Responding to the post, Makhadzi said' My brother, I respect you, besides being a musician you are a father and a husband to your wife. I don't know if this is a publicity stunt or not because you have my number,'
