His music career has been a slippery slope. He was once the most talked about rapper but then he vanished and moved back home to Port Elizabeth to get away from the big city, Johannesburg.

PAY UP!

A few years ago, he attempted to make a comeback in the music scene, but that did not go well. iFani, real name Mzayifani Mzondeleli Boltina, says his former record company Universal Music has blocked him from receiving money for his song Milli.

"Dear Universal Music Group," he pens down. "Why block my Milli? Milli was licensed to @SonyMusicAfrica for five years. The masters have always been mine. So, why block my YouTube money? I don’t understand," he adds.

LIVING WITH DEPRESSION

The Shake rapper previously opened up about his battle with depression and how he would only come to life when he goes on stage. "I was feeding off the audience’s energy. But as I left the stage, I was back to my misery," he shared. He says his depression lasted months, and his music kept him going. He also admitted in that his grandmother’s passing in 2010 and a car accident almost sent him over the edge.

He was also hijacked at gunpoint and in 2014 his home was robbed of more than R200,000 worth of valuables. But he has not allowed these setbacks to take him back to that dark time in his life.
