A 38-year-old suspect from Mbombela Municipality Bylaw Enforcement Officer is expected to appear before the Nelspruit Magistrates Court for killing a provincial traffic official at Kwanyoni Lodge in Nelspruit in Mpumalanga.

LOVE BIRDS

It is alleged that the love birds were in the chalet when the husband of the woman emerged and kicked open the door. It is alleged that there was an altercation as a broken a beer bottle was found. It is further alleged that the traffic official ran out of the chalet and the husband  followed him and fired shots. The victim was shot twice and succumbed to his injuries. The suspect fled the scene.

FIREARM

The crime scene was attended by the Hawks Nelspruit based Serious Organised Crime Investigation and other law enforcement.The team took initiative to phone the suspect who handed himself over at SAPS Nelspruit. The firearm which was used during the commission of crime was seized and he was charged with murder and detained pending his first court appearance soon. Investigation continues.
