The man probably thought he had gotten away with murder when a year passed without being arrested.What he didn't know was that the police had received information on his involvement in his wife's murder and that they were investigating him.On Sunday, they pounced on him and he was charged for allegedly hiring hitmen to kill his estranged wife in June 2021.

MULTIPLE STAB WOUNDS

Two hitmen from Mankweng in Turfloop were also arrested and charged for the murder on Monday and Tuesday respectively.Sibongile Ditsela's body was found in her home in Onverwacht, outside Lephalale town in Limpopo with multiple stab wounds.Limpopo police spokesperson Lieutenant colonel Mamphaswa Seabi said their investigations established that the deceased's husband allegedly hired two hitmen to kill his estranged wife.The couple were no longer sharing their marital home. The alleged murderer 'discovered' the dead body on the day of the murder and when he had arranged to go to the house to collect his daughter after school.

EX-HUSBAND WENT STRAIGHT TO THE BEDROOM 

It's alleged that the man knew his wife was already murdered when he arrived at the house. "After the domestic worker opened for the husband, he went straight to the bedroom where he found his wife lying in a pool of blood with multiple stab wounds," Seabi said. Police were called to the scene and upon arrival, they found that the suspects broke the window to gain access to the bedroom without anyone inside the house noticing.

APPEARING IN COURT TODAY

The suspects took the deceased's cellphone and car keys to make the murder look like a robbery.The deceased was also strangled with a rope. Suspects remain behind bars. The two alleged hitmen Petrus Sefara, 48, and Ditsela appeared in the Lephalale Magistrate's court on Tuesday on charges of murder and house robbery. Their case was postponed to today for a formal bail application and they were remanded in custody.The third suspect will make his first court appearance today as well.
