So, I had a pretty wild weekend living up to my nickname, "Straatmate." The City of Tshwane was the place to be, with all sorts of celebs and their entourages showing up for Miss South Africa at the Arena. There were also tons of fashion peeps, models, and people who get paid to post on social media.
OMG Bonang Matheba killed it? She was slaying in every outfit! I swear, every guy there was drooling over her, and every girl was just jealous. It goes to show that if you pay for it, you can look damn good too! But anyways, let’s get to the good stuff. I want to share my thoughts on the hits and misses of the night.
Blue Mbombo looked pretty in pink; the colour of her dress was perfect for her skin tone. But man, after a few drinks, she looked like she was at some fancy wedding vows renewal of Vivian Reddy and Sorisha.
Oh, Sonia Mbele totally nailed that assignment! By the way, you should definitely stick with your stylist; they know what they’re doing.
OMG Kagiso Mogola looked picture-perfect! Can’t change a thing about it. You go, girl!
Man, I’ve got to say that Coachella Randy was a bit of a hot mess. Her outfit looked like she forgot to finish making it or something. It left us feeling pretty conflicted.
I just don’t get it - the Makgaleme sisters have all the money to get stylists to make them look amazing, yet Johanna looked like she was dressed to preach at a Nigerian church, and her sister looked like a struggling jazz musician. Maybe they need to start praying to their style gods next time they’re at Rhema because it seems like they’re being punished or something.
Influencer Eva Modiga paid homage to Beyoncé. Not bad for imitation; you pulled it off.
Dr. Pashy partied her scandals away while looking hot in a blue number; judging by her bubbly attitude am sure she got her passport back. Wonder if she’s had a chance to catch up with Dr Nandi yet.
Caster Semenya and her wife looked nice and clean, with a hint of yellow.
Dr Maweni looked ravishing in a shimmering dress, but something needed scrubbing there. I doubt she is using her own range of pink "Siwasho" because something is not make sure.
It was refreshing to see the controversial Jackie Phamotse, but rocking shades on Capert is a big no. She looked like she borrowed something from Bassie’s closet. The dress was nice for a high tea or baby shower.
Sithelo Shozi left us confused here at ZiMoja Towers. At one point, she looked like a display at an expensive cake shop.
Social media influencer Abigal Visagie opted for a white wedding dress. Maybe this is the closest she will ever get to marriage as she is dating one of the Jozi players, or maybe she was dropping hints for her boyfriend Lagosh.
