Dr Nandipha Magudumana allegedly stole bodies weeks before Thabo Bester's escape

Dr Nandipha Magudumana will also face charges of body theft

Dr Nandipha Magudumana has allegedly did everything in her power to make sure her lover Thabo Bester was free a man. It is reported that the celebrity doctor stole three unclaimed bodies from Free State mortuaries to use in an escape plan for Bester.

?STEALING BODIES FOR BESTER'S FREEDOM

According to police reports, Dr Nandi, as she is affectionately known, allegedly stole the bodies to use them as a replacement for convicted rapist and murderer Thabo Bester during his prison escape. One of the bodies, which Dr Nandi claimed to be of her father, was found dumped in a river with its identification toe tag still attached, a week after she took possession of it. The second body was that of an unknown man whom they claimed was Bester and had burnt to death at the Magaung Correctional Center in May last year. The third corpse is still unaccounted for. It is alleged that Dr Nandi also used the bodies to claim insurance.

?NOT THE MASTERMIND

Police Minister Bheki Cele said all these horrific things that Dr Nandipha allegedly did could not have been her own ideas. Cele said it was Bester who planned everything and told her what to do. 'She was put up to these dealings by Bester who was desperate for freedom and willing to do anything for it,' Cele said. The couple was arrested in Tanzania on Friday night trying to leave that country. They were found with several passports with different names and none of them were stamped. Minister Lamola said a warrant of arrest has been issued for Dr Nandi's arrest. "She needs to come back to the country and face the law for her crimes,' Lamola said.
