Media personality and Youtuber Lasizwe Dambuza (24) is spitting fire. This is after the event’s organizer Siyavuya Mbete breached a service level agreement he had with them. Lasizwe entered into a contract with them as an influencer of the social media SUV Challenge, but they failed to pay the full amount, sighting thatLasizwe used the platform to instead push his own brand.?
THE AGREEMENT?
in 2018The SUV Challenge is an annual event that was launched in2018 to foster collaboration between civil society, government, and corporate South Africa for community development through tourism and adventure sport. The event attracted other celebrities including reality star Brinnette Seopela,Gugu Khathi, and other influencers. According to the contract, Siyavuya was to pay the flamboyant star an upfront deposit of 50 percent amounting to R150 000excluding VAT before starting the project and the outstanding balance at the end of the project.?
LASIZWE THREATENS LEGAL ACTION?
A miffed Lasizwe told ZiMoja that Siyavuya still owes him R90 000. Based on the agreement, payments were supposed to be processed in March this year. ZiMoja has seen aletter sent to Siya instructing them to pay the outstanding balance within 10 days, failing which he has threatened to institute legal action. When called for comment, Siyavuya says, “Lasizwe can go fly a kite he is not bothered," Siyavuya adds. “He can ahead and sue If he wants. I have paid all the people mentioned, except for him. He is the one who bridged the contract, where is the content for the SUV challenge, he came with his crew and I basically flew them to shoot his own content at my expense.”
