A university graduate who was helped by media personality Boity Thulo in 2018, has come out to thank her for helping him succeed. In 2018, Siyamthanda Dondolo took to Twitter and shared his plight on urgently needing a scientific calculator as he was starting his exams in a week. He needed R366.95 for the calculator and Boity reached out and sent him R500 e-wallet. He graduated from Cape Peninsula University of Technology in 2019 and again this week as he graduated with his third qualification.
BOITY STEPPED UP TO HELP
?"I really need it. It's really difficult to prepare for these exams without it,' he shared, saying that he was waiting for his book allowance from his bursary. Boity stepped in to help, promising to send him an e-wallet. He later posted on social media thanking Boity for the e-wallet and provided a proof of purchase. " I will never forget what you've done for me and thank you for trusting me with your money, many didn't,' he tweeted.
GRATITUDE
On Thursday, Dondolo took to social media again where he tagged Boity and wrote: "Hi @Boity, not sure if u still remember me. Your kind gesture a year ago is one of the things that made this day possible. I graduated this morning. Thanks again. #CPUTSummerGrad2019,' Siya tweeted in December 2019. This month Dondolo netted his third qualification. He believes that if it hadn't been for Boity's help, he would not have gotten this far. He tweeted "Update: I collected my 3rd qualification today. Things have been going well. Forever grateful @Boity,' he tweeted on Wednesday. Boity replied: "God bless you Siya! Congratulations and thank you so much for being such an incredible example!'
