She has had enough and wants what belongs to her. Gospel singer Buhle Nhlangulela tells ZiMoja that she is tired of being exploited in the music industry.?

ENOUGH!?

Buhle has been a backing vocalist for 22 years and claims that award-winning artist Betusile Mcinga is threatening to take her to court over the song Ngena Noah which she claims to have arranged and written. The Umsinga singer claims that she wrote and rearranged the song but was never credited or compensated for her efforts. "I've been quiet for far too long. I am speaking out now because I am threatened with lawyers and lawsuits,' she says, adding that, "I wrote and arranged that song.' Buhle says that Betusile paid her a measly R500 for a studio session. "People don't know what we go through as artists. We don't talk about it and when we do talk, people say that we want fame. People think that those who are more famous than us are always right. They are not and it has to stop, "she adds.

WHO IS TELLING THE GOSPEL TRUTH??

Buhle says that this is not the first time she is taken advantage of. "This is not the first time I have been exploited. I have kids and a family to look after. Betusile is making money with that song, and I am here penniless.' Buhle further says that Betusile was not the only person she has worked with that has not paid her. "Recently there is a big gospel artist who passed away. I helped her get gigs and I wrote songs and backed for her. I chose not to attend her funeral because she passed away when we were not on speaking terms,' Buhle says. "The reason we were not on speaking terms is that she decided to believe every word on the streets about me, yet we did many songs for which she never compensated me.' Contacted for comment Betusile Mcinga says that Buhle was paid. "Buhle didn't rewrite or arrange the song. She was a backing vocalist with two other backers, Futhi and Muzi and they were all paid to do a backing session of that song by Top Class Productions, "Betusile concludes.
