The Gauteng Cold Case Investigation Unit has arrested the brother-in-law of Gogo Maweni for a double murder case. Lindani Mgube, 34, was arrested on January 31 in De Deur. Police said information on the whereabouts of Mgube was followed up and led to the suspect?s last known residence in Kanana Park (Majazana) where the Mgube was not found and only his brothers were present. 

The brothers were then used to lure the suspect to De Deur SAPS where he was arrested on a charge of two murder charges. 

Mgube, from Zone 2 Diepkloof in Soweto, was later detained at Orange Farm SAPS.

The police did not leave anything to chance in arresting Mgube. 

HE WAS TRACED

On Friday, 31 January 2025 at about 4pm, members from the Gauteng Province Cold Case Investigation Unit, K9 Sedibeng, Compol Sedibrng and Afriguard embarked on an operation to trace and arrest Mgube who was wanted on double murder charge. Mgube made his first court appearance at the Vereeniging Magistrate?s Court on March 3 where bail was opposed by the National Prosecuting Authority.
