The latest high profile personality to follow his calling is none other than controversial Reggie Nkabinde, who was at the helm as ANC Youth League national-treasurer and co-owner of Mabala Noise, which recently is said, to have shut its doors. The flamboyant Nkabinde, who is nicknamed "Gov'ner" has been under the radar, training to become a sangoma, away from the prying media.
RECENTLY HE HOSTED A TRADITIONAL DO
Recently his house in the West Rand, was a hive of activity with Nkanbinde's gobela (his spiritual teacher and advisor) and fellow sangomas gracing what seemed like was his graduation ceremony. According to a source, they were taken by suprise when they saw chickens all over and sangomas dancing.
"We were there to pop champopo and smoke cigars, we had no clue he has followed a different path,' adds the source adding that, the usually hyper Reggie came across as calm and subdued, a far cry from his a vivacious personality.
HARD TIMES
Nkabinde's calling apparently kicked in during 2020, when Covid-19 attacked the entire world. "He is no longer chasing flashy things. He is actually a changed man now. He is all about his calling now," says a source.
During the event, Nkabinde was a reserved person and not the flashy business mogul ,who is known for spending money like it is out of fashion like in hey days at Mabala Noise. The record label has suffered in recent years, when he was absent in the music industry.
In their glory days, Mabala Noise paid millions of Rands in signing-on fees to artists such as Nasty C, the late rapper Ricky Rick, Khanyi Mbau, among others, when they joined the label.Some of the notable personalities who were under the label Include TV personality Mbali Nkosi, Zola 7, DJ Bongz, Gigi Lamayne, Major League DJs and the late ProKid.
