PROPERTY BELONGING TO RAPE VICTIMS
SAPS spokeswoman Brenda Muridili told Zimoja that the suspect was found in possession of property that belonged to the rape victims. "The suspect's role in the rape case included finding the location for the shoot. She was charged with theft and defeating the ends of justice when the investigating officer discovered that she stole items belonging to one of the victims," explained Muridili.
PIECES OF THE PUZZLE COMING TOGETHER
Eight women were raped at an abandoned mine in July in Krugersdorp. The women were employed as music video vixens when the unfortunate incident happened. The 14 accused are charged with multiple counts of rape, robbery with aggravated circumstances and being in the country illegally.Their matter was postponed due to the state's inability to link DNA evidence against the accused, the fact that one suspect is a minor and for collection of further evidence. The incident sparked outrage in various parts of Gauteng with people protesting and demanding that illegal miners leave their areas.
