VICTIMS AT HIS MERCY
A rape and kidnapping case was opened in Tembisa on September 18, 2018 after the complainant, who was 27 at the time, was walking home when a security van stopped next to her and the driver offered her a lift home. However, she was taken to an open field where the accused allegedly pointed a gun at her and proceeded to rape her. A 29 year old victim previously told Zimoja that she had been from town with her younger sister when the accused approached them, initially dropped them off at home but before they could get off he pointed at them with a firearm and drove away with them. The victim said when they got to the open veld he stepped out of the car and came to her side. She said he ordered them to take off their shoes and pants and then jump to the backseat. "He also took off his shoes and clothes and told my sister to do the same but she refused and explained that she was on her periods. He then told her that she was off the hook for now but he'd be coming back for her." She said the accused ordered her to lay on her sister's thighs before he penetrated her. When he was done he told her to get off and get dressed. "As I bended to pick up my clothes he raped me again and when he was done I got dressed and he drove us back home. After that I just wanted to forget and did not tell my family or my husband about the incident." The matter will be back in court on the 18th of April.
