A woman has been arrested after she poisoned her husband, kept the body for four days and tried to get a stranger to help her bury him. Paulinah Monyebodi (48) Olievenhoutbosch appeared at the Pretoria Magistrates Court on Friday morning on charges of premeditated murder.
ASKING A STRANGER FOR HELP
National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Lumka Mahanjana said its alleged that on Tuesday morning, the accused approached a man unknown to her on the street and asked him to stay with her and her husband at their home for free. "She told him she has a problem and mentioned that she poisoned her husband four days earlier and needed his help to dig a ditch and bury the dead body. She said the body has been lying in the house for some days," Mahanjana said.
EXPOSED BY STRANGER
In response to her request, the stranger pretended to agree but went to report the matter to the police. "Monyebodi was arrested after the man pointed her out to the police," said Mahanjana. The case was remanded to 28 April 2023, for further investigation.
