The search for Bogabo Poo has come to an end but sadly she has died. The four year old's mutilated body was allegedly discovered last week in Tamboville, Ekurhuleni but no one knew it was her. SAPS spokesman Colonel Mavela Masondo told Zimoja that there was a body of a child that was found in two locations in Tamboville.
"The body was discovered by community members a day after Bogabo went missing. Community members reported what they had discovered and DNA tests had to be performed."
DNA CONFIRMS THE WORST NEWS
He said the tests were done on the parents of Bogabo in order to determine if those remains belonged to their daughter. "The test results positively identified Bogabo and this was relayed to the family," said Masondo. Bogabo went missing on Monday afternoon around 4pm. She was playing in Masoleng Park, Boksburg North with her five-year old-friend.
SUSPECT IN POLICE CUSTODY
Bogabo's grandmother Refilwe Poo told Zimoja that although she said she wanted her granddaughter back dead or alive, the reality of it has torn her apart. "We are grateful that she was found but we had hope that she would still be alive. I can't say much right now because we are still trying to process her death," said Refilwe. A suspect was arrested on Friday morning in Boksburg North. The police told Zimoja that he was allegedly the last one to be seen with Bogabo and will be appearing in court on Monday.
