Even though DJ Siyanda has been absent from the music scene, he maintains it will always be his first love, even though he has moved on to politics. His main focus is serving people.
NOT DITCHING MUSIC COMPLETELY
Siyanda Tshabalala, best known, as DJ Siyanda says he is not ditching music for good, although he his career has taken a different turn.
The former Metro FM. DJ says another passion has taken over at the moment.
The popular Durban disc jockey caused speculation after he had been seen attending many meetings at his ANC Ward 74 eThekwini region in Lamontville. He confirmed to Zimoja that he is currently the secretary in the ward.
"Well I guess am a politician now but music will always be my life. I enjoy working and helping people. it is something that comes naturally to me. The political space has allowed me to express that side of me ,' he adds
Even during his glory days as a DJ, he was always seen rubbing shoulders with the likes of former President Jacob Zuma, former health minister Zweli Mkhize and many more.
A PASSION FROM A YOUNG AGE
Siyanda explains his love for politics dates back to when he was still a young man .The Iwewe hitmaker says as a young man he was involved in politics in Lamontville township
Through the years he has had to balance his life between entertainment and politics.
"I don't have any ambitions politically, it's just I live and breathe politics because I feel that we must all contribute in changing people's lives for the better, as we all know that we come from disadvantage communities" he says.
DONT MISTAKE HIS KINDNESS FOR STUPIDITY
The popular deejay is not shy to say his mind. In October last year he shocked everyone when he made made damning claims about fellow Durban disc jockey, Tira accusing him of hiring hitmen to kill him. At the time he also claimed that DJ Tira was the reason he was quiting the music industry.
