What was meant to be a fun weekend on an island turned into a nightmare for many who coughed out thousands of Rands for a memorable time. Actress and radio personality, Dineo Ranaka became unpopular after organising a disastrous  cruise from Durban to the Portuguese Island.

PEOPLE FRUSTRATED

The "Cruise With Dineo & Friends", which started at the MSC New Durban Harbour on 27 January was scheduled to return on 30 January 30. But during those days, the outraged revellers claim it was their worst trip of their lives and a total waste of money, in the tight month of January. The cruise had a host of personalities  including Dbn Gogo. Some of the revellers claim that the itinerary was never followed, instead, people got drunk as a result of being frustrated. The themed parties never happened, and a source who was part of the travelling party says one of the organisers, Dogg Dbn was so drunk he had to be helped to reach his sleeping deck.

DBN GOGO'S PIECE OF MIND

Dbn Gogo was unimpressed about. what happened at the cruise. She wrote on her Twitter account: "Yal really thought I was whyling for free the whole weekend. I'm telling you we were enslaved on a ship!" Lehleeza also wrote: "uDriver wasiRoundisa iDbn yonke ke. Nix iPortuguese Island. I'm telling you big scam." A source, who was part of the cruise, says she was reminded the days when slaves were transported by ships. "it felt like I was in 12 years of slavery. I have never seen so much chaos on a cruise ship' What was meant to be a nice relaxation on the sandy beach with cocktails ended in cheap drama according to some of the people who were on board. The highly anticipated boat cruise turned out to be disaster with people complaining about the treatment and chaos getting on board and waiting for hours at the port.According to some party goers organisers failed them especially when it came to planning and logistics. "At some point it felt like we were at Park Station during the festive season , it took us a while to find our bookings  and our room allocations, most of the time we were just hungry but eventually we had to make peace with our situation "

NOT BAD FOR A FIRST CRUISE

The cruise never reached its final destinations, which was supposed to be the Portuguese Island, not even close to shore but instead guests were told they can't reach the Island because of the bad weather. According to another source, Dineo tried her level best to remain calm and professional as some of the guests were panicking. According to the source she did her best especially because it was her first one. "I am definitely sure that she has learnt so much from this experience and the next one will be a success. I am not making excuses for her but for her first time she tried , despite the few hiccups," adds the source When called for comment popular Durban promoter Dawg DBN admits, "It was stressful but we eventually pulled through and had the best time ever, but like in any other business we had those minor challenges but it was the best cruise ever." Dineo seemed to agree and posted on social media, "The most humbling interaction i have ever experienced with friends and fans of Dineo Ranaka, the patience with our administrative congestion, the love and respect we showed one another, warm energy, the fun we had , the business lesson leant and relationships  built. My fellow entertainers and staff at the MSC thanks you so much for cruising with us."
