The community of Mandlanzini village in Richards Bay, KwaZulu Natal has chased away the woman who allegedly teamed up with her mother to kill her father’s second wife. Zoliswa Mthethwa and her daughter Gcinile were arrested on July 6 for the murder of Thulile Sangweni.

THE MURDER

Sangweni was shot and killed on June 30 allegedly by a hitman who was hired by the mother-daughter duo. In court, it emerged that the hitman, Lucky Mthiyane is dating Zoliswa. In a twist of events, Zoliswa’s daughter Gcinile was released on Monday after she cut a deal with the state to become a state witness. This angered the community which vowed to kill Gcinile if she dares come back to stay in Mandlanzini.

LAW UNFAIR

Thulile’s daughter Thando told ZiMoja that they feel the law is not fair towards them. "It is worrying how the law works. These people were with me all this time. We were doing everything together with them, yet they knew that they are the ones who killed my mother. We buried my mother on June 6, and they were with us all the time until the burial. My sister is the one who went pick up the hitman and even drove the hitman back to his house after he shot my mother," she said.

NO REASONS TO KILL

Thando said she visited her stepmother to ask her if she really killed my and the reasons behind it. "They were arrested the following day after we had buried my mother. I visited her in jail and asked her why they killed my mother. She told me that she had no clue why she killed my mother. She said that she never accepted my mother as the second wife. "The hitman said that she killed my mother for free because they are dating with my stepmother. We are shocked by all this because we knew as someone who is loving and caring. The pain she caused is a hard pill to swallow. As much as I’m concerned about my life but let’s allow the law to take it course," she said.
