When he heard that his fiance was cheating on him with his friend, a KwaZulu Natal cop went on a killing spree. Lindokuhle Sikhakhane (28) who is stationed at the Bishopstowe Police Station, in Pietermaritzburg, allegedly shot his girlfriend Samukelisiwe Mtshali (22)and his friend Sandile Nene and and then two days later, he handed him over to the police. Sikhakhane went to Nene's house and asked that he take him to Pietermaritzburg town to run errands last Friday. Nene only found out about Sikhakhane's aim when he demanded that they search for Mtshali. When they couldn't find his girlfriend, Sikhakhane allegedly shot Nene dead and dumped his body in the nearby bushes.
FINDING OUT ABOUT THE CHEATING
A cop who is not authorised to speak to the media told ZiMoja that Sikhakhane went berserk when he found out about the cheating from his other friends. "He took Nene's car and drove straight to the small town of Msinga to look for Mtshali. He looked for her for two days until he finally found her on Monday. He shot and killed her and dumped her body in the bushes too. You can tell he was angry because he even used the service pistol," the cop said.
HANDING HIMSELF OVER
Sikhakhane handed himself over to the Pomeroy police on Monday. Independent Police Investigative Directorate spokesperson Lizzy Suping confirmed that IPID was investigating two cases of murder. "The accused officer appeared in court yesterday and his case was remanded to 17 January 2023," said Suping.
