Calls for the president to step down immediately

Opposition parties are adamant that the president must walk

President Cyril Ramaphosa was expected to address nation tonight at 7pm but this will no longer happen but in due course. This follows the release of a report by an independent panel into Phala Phala farm scandal Opposition parties, especially, the Democratic Alliance, Inkatha Freedom Party and the Economic Freedom Fighters are baying for the head of the embattled President  Ramaphosa. Yesterday he was found to have a case to answer by the panel.

A CALL FOR EARLY ELECTIONS

Democratic Alliance leader John Steenhuisen said that his party was tabling a motion to dissolve Parliament for early elections, giving power back to the people. "South Africans should not have to choose between the Phala Phala corruption of Cyril Ramaphosa, the Digital Vibes corruption of Zweli Mkhize or the Mafia state of David Mabuza," said Steenhuisen. He further said: "We cannot leave it up to 4000 bribed and compromised delegates at an ANC conference to choose the future of our country. That choice has to be made by all the people of South Africa in an early election."

COMPELLING EVIDENCE

Meanwhile the IFP said it has studied the Section 89 Panel Report released last night and welcomes the report and its recommendations. "Considering all factors, affidavits and circumstances reviewed by the panel,  the panel could not have arrived at any conclusion other than the ones presented in their report. The prima facie evidence is compelling. Therefore, on Tuesday 6 December when the Panel Report is considered by the National Assembly, the IFP will vote in support of the adoption of the Report by the House, as well as in support of the establishment of an Impeachment Committee. The IFP thanks the Section 89 Panel, especially Retired Chief Justice Sandile Ngcobo - who was nominated by the IFP to serve on this panel - for their diligence and dedication in undertaking the Section 89 work in a manner that has upheld the Constitution and our democracy," the statement reads. The EFF also echoed the words of DA and the IFP that they want the president step down immediately. The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) welcomed the damning, scathing and definitive findings by the Independent Panel to establish whether Cyril Ramaphosa has a case to answer regarding Phala Phala Farm, which has essentially found that Ramaphosa has violated his Oath of Office and the Constitution. In a statement sent by the EFF  they said , "The findings are tantamount to a betrayal of South Africa by a man who has been entrusted with upholding, defending and advancing this country's laws. It is of more concern that the Panel has found that Ramaphosa deliberately had the intention to conceal the crime, by asking Namibian Policing Authorities to handle the investigation of the crime with discretion. This shows that there were underhanded tactics, and the likelihood of abduction and torture gain credibility from the secretive nature of the investigation. The statement further reads: " Further to this, the Panel confirms our long held suspicion, that the amount kept in the sofas and furniture of Ramaphosa far exceeds that which was reported, including the dirty money which was given by a Sudanese businessman to Ramaphosa's employees under his instruction under the pretence of purchasing buffaloes. There was no purchase of any animals and this is exposed by the fact that two-years after the so-called purchase, the animals still remain on Phala Phala Farm.Critically, the Independent Panel has affirmed the long held position by the EFF, which stated that the fact that the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) had to investigate the origins of the millions of foreign currency, means that Ramaphosa did not declare the currency to the SARB. This was exposed through a Parliamentary question posed by the EFF to the SARB."The statement further  reads: "EFF re-affirms that Ramaphosa runs a sophisticated money laundering operation in which he uses his employees to avoid direct accountability.
