Ntokozo Zikhali (28) who is accused of  the rape and murder of Bokgabo Poo was back in the Benoni magistrates court on Tuesday. Zikhali faces charges of kidnapping, murder, defeating the ends of justice and violation of a corpse.

 SERIOUSNESS OF THE MATTER 

 Zikhali's trial has been postponed and referred to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions. State Prosecutor Elizabeth Bisi told the court that a decision needed to be made on whether the trial will be heard in a Regional or High Court.

 MOTHER SPEAKS 

Speaking after the court proceedings , Tsholofelo Poo, the deceased mother said she hopes that the matter is transferred to the high court. "It's been a couple of months since they last postponed the case. So far what I heard today is that they will do an analysis of what they have investigated so far. With the postponement being on the 30 March, I can only hope they decide to take the case to High Court so it can be tried and heard properly." 

 BODY PARTS MISSING 

 Bokgabo was brutally murdered and mutilated by Zikhali. Her body parts were scattered in parts of Ekurhuleni. She went missing in October of 2022 while playing with her friends at a nearby park. Her body, which was found a day later, was missing limbs. The matter has been postponed to the 30th of March.
