Media personality and actress Baby Cele has graduated as a full-time Sangoma. Cele, who turns 52 this month, has appeared on Uzalo, and took a break to become Ithwasa (Trainee Sangoma). The former Backstage and Sarafina actress, who has since divorced businessman Thabo Maloka, once spoke about the challenges facing her with her calling, and being married at the same time. In February last year, was quoted on Zimoja when she had an interview with YouTube Lungelo KM on the channel, Engineer Your Life: "I clap my hands for anyone married to a person who has a relationship with someone with a spiritual calling. They are either brave or they were chosen by the ancestors." Cele, who was married to Moloka in 2017, divorced the businessman in 2021 after the calling or being a Sangoma made it difficult for her to cling to her marriage. This was her second divorce, she told Lungelo KM.

AFFECTED HER MARRIAGE 

A source said it was difficult for Cele to stay in her marriage life since "she had to first fulfill the ancestors? wishes of being a Sangoma".

"She knew she had a calling even before she met Maloka. But she didn?t take it seriously. "Her relationships were not something that would last until she appeased her ancestors by following her calling of being a Sangoma. She has a gift of healing people," said the source.
