Less than a month after the resignation of coach Vusimuzi Vilakazi, another coach has resigned from AmaZulu Football Club. Today the Durban team accepted the resignation of goalkeeper coach Aubrey Vilakazi, "who is stepping down with immediate effect due to personal reasons".Vusimuzi resigned from Usuthu on February 25 after joining AmaZulu with fellow coach, Arthur "10111" Zwane in October last year following Pablo Franco Martin’s rough start to the season. When AmaZulu boss Sandile Zungu appointed Zwane and Vilakazi as co-coaches, his team was hovering in the relegation zone. Last night AmaZulu lost 2-0 to runaway log leaders, Mamelodi Sundowns. Former goalkeeper coach Aubrey has immediately been replaced by former Sundowns and Bafana Bafana goalkeeper coach, Wendell Robinson.
HE WAS ANNOUNCED
AmaZulu announced the departure of Aubrey and welcomed Robinson on Wednesday. "Vilakazi was promoted to first-team goalkeeper coach last year after previously serving with the reserve Team."The club expresses its gratitude for his dedication and contributions during his tenure and wishes him success in his future endeavours.
NEW ONE ALREADY ON THE WAY
"Following his departure, the club has appointed Wendell Robinson as the new goalkeeper coach. Robinson brings extensive experience to the role, having previously worked with Mamelodi Sundowns and the South African National Team."Zungu said then: "On behalf of the entire Usuthu family - players, technical and administrative personnel, supporters, and board members - we wish Mpiyakhe all the best in his future endeavors."But the team has not announced an assistant to Zwane after the departure of Vilakazi.
