After producing two successful albums for award winning Makhadzi, producer and singer Mr Brown and Airburn Sounds have teamed up with international singer Akon in a project that is expected to be released in March.

COLLABORATION

Real name Lynol Siwela from Gweru in Zimbabwe, Mr Brown and Airburn Sounds whose real name is Thabo Mahundla from Ebony Park in Johannesburg have produced six tracks for the Nobody singer for his EP. Speaking to ZiMoja, Mr Brown said that working with Akon was a blessing in disguise. "We are grateful to the almighty for giving us this opportunity to work with someone who is known worldwide. It is God's grace that has brought us here as we are one of the few producers in South Africa with unique style,' Mr Brown said. Two met Akon on social media and when the Senegalese-American singer visited the country for an event that didn't happen, he invited them to the studio and "as they say, the rest is history,' said MrBrown.

CREDITED AS PRODUCERS

Mr Brown said they are grateful that Akon will credited them as producers and featured artists in the project. "We are grateful that he is not greedy and agreed to credit us. Some international artists were going to buy the beats and not credit us. Being part of his project means a lot because not only is it taking our brands into another level but it is flying the flag ofSouth African music very high,' he said. Mr Brown and Airburn Sounds produced mostly all the songs for Makhadzi in her 2021 and 2022 albums.

MR NICE GUY

Airburn Sounds told ZiMoja that Akon is a nice guy to work with and he doesn't have an ego just because he is an international star. "He liked our style and how we do music. It was like we have known him forever.Working with him was a great experience and as a boy from ekasi, I want people to know that your background does not determine your future. What is important is where you are going. I'm a living proof that anything is possible as long as you believe in yourself and your craft,' Airburn Sounds said.Mr Brown. The duo recently released a single titled Thando Uzongibulala where they featured Makhadzi.
