He was booked to perform at The Village and Pub Grill in Acornhoek, Mpumalanga. After receiving his full payment, Sabelo Zuma, best known as Zuma Msholozi failed to pitch for the event and made "lame excuses."

Zuma was booked for a Youth Day celebration alongside Dj Khathapila from the TV show Skeem Saam. The former Amaroto group member did not arrive and informed organisers that he was traveling from a gig in Rustenburg. "He first told the organiser after receiving his deposit that he needed the full payment for travelling from his previous gig. He then received the money, then he said he was having car issues and made up a lot of lame excuses that were contradictory," a source revealed.

Zuma did not confirm that he would no longer be arriving. "He kept telling the organisers that he was on the way. They believed him and trusted him as they had worked with him before. He told the organisers around 8pm that he was on the way but the venue ended up closing around 2am, without communicating whether he would not make it or not."

The event organiser, Akani Mathebula, said they don't comment about the running of their business. "We choose not to paint the artists in a bad light but yes, he did not pitch. He said at 8 pm, he was running late. We understand things happen and in most cases, we expect artists to make up for it, or send through a refund," Akani said. "But also it's not about the refund, but about credibility. People expect you to come and when you don't, they feel cheated. Nonetheless, we will see how the matter can be resolved."

Zuma's team said, "We had car issues, and we will solve the matter. We will speak to the organisers. The matter was beyond our control."
