In a twist of events, talented actor Zolisa Xaluva will be returning to Smokes & Mirrors. ZiMoja can reveal that Xaluva received a sweet deal from the show's producers that met his demands.

ACTOR TO RETURN TO SMOKE & MIRRORS

Highly placed sources at the eTV drama series said the talented actor will be returning as a director too. Before he left the show late last year, Xaluva played the lead role of ruthless boss, Caesar. After season one, the award-winning actor was reportedly dismissed by the production company following a "money-related dispute" with the production, claims he dismissed. The actor was later replaced by Homla Dandala. However, sources close to the situation alleged that Dandala was not doing justice to the role and viewers were not happy with his performance.

HE WAS NOT HAPPY WITH DIRECTORS 

Zimoja can reveal that the talented actor left the show because he was not happy with the way the show was run behind the scenes. "He was tired of unprofessionalism from crew hence he was offered the opportunity to direct,' added the source. "He is now also playing a role of creative director behind the scenes and mentoring young on set.' According to another source his new contract has been revised. The source said he was modest about his return and demands. 

NOT THE FIRST TIME 

This is not the first time the award-winning actor found himself at the bitter end with producers. In 2022, his fans were shocked when he confirmed rumours that he exited popular telenovela Gomora for the same issue of wanting to creative direct on the show. Around 2014, Xaluva was part of the fired "Generations 16' actors after failure to reach agreement with producers over payment and royalties.

Called for for comment, executive producer Luzuko Nodada said he was not aware of such change. "We don't know anything like that,' he said. Xaluva he could not be reached for comment as his phone rang unanswered and he did not respond to WhatsApp messages.
