Ukhozi FM presenter, author and Crown Gospel Music Awards founder Zanele Mbokazi-Nkambule (52) has lung cancer. The cancer was discovered by doctors when she was admitted to hospital last week and underwent a minor surgery. The Ukhozi FM presenter fell sick live on air last week and was rushed to hospital after experiencing shortness of breath.

HER HUSBAND CONFIRMED THE NEWS

Her eSwatini-born husband of 13 years, Bishop Mpendulo Nkambule, updated Ukhozi FM listeners today about her health status. Nkambule said at first, they prayed for her when she complained of pain and when she could not finish her gospel show ,Eshilo, they decided to take her to the hospital. The Bishop said Mbokazi was taken to theatre for surgery to see what the problem could be and the doctors diagnosed her with lung cancer. "We thank God for His mighty hand. Thank you to everyone who has been praying for my dear wife, Zanele Mbokazi, since hearing news of her ill-health. We thank God that she is recovering well. Thank you for the prayers, love and support from family, friends, church and entire community," Nkambule said.

SUPPORT GALORE

Ukhozi FM management was also on hand to allay fears about Mbozaki's health scare during the Vuka Breakfast Show this morning when they addressed the listeners about the latest developments. "We're praying for her speedy recovery and God to be with us during this difficult time. We're praying to God to do miracles because we know He's capable of doing miracles," he said. Last week Friday Mbokazi wrote on her Facebook timeline thanking pastors, her in-laws, artists and friends who sent prayers and flowers after the news of her being sick. "Thank you as well to my Eshilo family for your prayers and messages of support on this page. My in-laws in Swaziland, thank you for the love. The theatre procedure went well. Now managing the pain." Her PR manager Nonjabulo Mdluli said the veteran TV personality is still dealing with the news of her diagnosis and that her doctors have put her on treatment. "She is still shocked and processing the news. She remains strong and starting necessary treatment, she'll be ok," Mdluli said.
