She has been described as a music icon who healed many through her music. Bulelwa Mkutukana affectionately known as Zahara, who passed away after being hospitalised for a few weeks always wanted to be remembered as the girl next door. The musician and songwriter loved her family, and often shared pictures of her parents and her sisters and nieces and nephews. On her social media posts, Zahara often thanked God, her family and her fans for showering her with love and picking her up whenever she was down. She was an open book and spoke openly about her challenges in life. On the 1st of November, a week before she celebrated her 36th birthday on 9 November, she shared three photos of herself where she wrote: "Hide me in you my fortress,"( ndifihle kuwe nqaba yami). We share some of the beautiful pictures of her in concert, in her own space and with family.
