Artists at the new recording label, which took over artists from big labels Ambitiouz Entertainment and Mabala Noise, promising to nurture young and upcoming talent are fuming because they are being bullied by a fellow singer. The artists from Makhathes Productions told ZiMoja how unsafe and intimidated they feel at the hands of fellow singer and sangoma, Khanyisa Clementine Mngwenya nickname 1st Lady K.
RULES AND THREATS
They claim that 1st Lady K has threatened to harm them if they don't abide by the rules set by her at the production house, where they all live in Midrand, Johannesburg. Barely setting one foot in the music industry, 1st Lady K has already painted a bad image. She wrote a long set of rules and plastered them on communal areas. "This is a production house and not a tavern or whore house. No need for useless girls in the house. Trust me, I will chase you out naked," she threatened. "Don't touch anything without my acknowledgment, not even a glass of water," the rules said further. Rule number seven said, ?Open the door before knocking, or you will get your throat ripped. You touch anyone's stuff, you get smacked, especially 1st Lady's things." These are just some of the rules set by the Nomalanga singer.

PHYSICAL FIGHTS
One of the artists living at the house, who did not wish to be named ,due to fear of intimidation, said the singer is a bully. "She is controlling and wants things to always go her way," he said. "She is intimidated by other women who come to the studio whether to work or are relatives and friends. She has chased a few people away," the colleague said, adding that, "She wants to be in charge of everything basically but like all of us, she is just signed into the label."
THE ASSAULTS
Another insider revealed how she physically assaulted a singer who has since left the label. "They fought over a man," the source said. "They were the only two women at the label at the time and she was dating one of the producers, who happened to also be dating the other singer," a source added. "When she found out, she physically assaulted both of them, the well known producer and the lady. She is like a pitbull! Instead of focusing on her career, she is doing all the wrong things and attacking the wrong people. This is not good for her reputation as an emerging artist and it's just not good because you can't assault people and think you can get away with it." The label owner, Phillip Makhathe, was not available to comment on the matter and the running of his label. 1st lady Kay hung up the phone when quizzed about her temper. "Mnxim!" she said.
