The family of actor and child star Mpho Sebeng confirmed his passing yesterday following a horrific car accident that happened in Potchefstroom, North West. The family requested space to process the news and said details of his funeral would be communicated in due course.
IN DISBELIEF
Mpho had been a TV presenter and actor since the age of 12 and made many friendships along the way. Colleagues have remembered him as a gentleman who was passionate about acting. Actress Florence Masebe shared her message of condolences. "What a fine young man. What a talent. What a dedicated thespian. Sending love and prayers to the Sebeng family and all Mpho's loved ones," she said. Former Rhythm City actress and singer Itumeleng Bokaba said. "I don't understand this life anymore, like God and I are having some serious beef right now." Langa Mavuso said, "We will miss your infectious smile and kind heart. Our hearts are broken."

Nthati Moshesh shared an image of her and Mpho, on the set of Ingoma, where Mpho played her son. "I remember this scene so vividly. You reacted to my tears and that made me cry even harder on Ingoma-the Song," she said. "If I'd known that this was one of my last hugs to you, I would have squeezed you tighter young beautiful, kind, loving, respectful man." She said Mpho had an impeccable fashion sense. "And your fashion sense was out of this world. I used to praise you so much at every function. I hope I said I love you and admire you enough,"Nthati added.
"We shared screen time on; Savage Beauty, Ring of Lies, Saints and Sinners, and lastly on Ingoma, the Song." She sent her message of condolences to his family. "To the Sebeng (your beloved mom) family. We are at a loss for words. We share your sorrow and grief. Thank you for birthing this amazing soul. South Africa mourns with you. Our humblest and deepest sympathies. Love you, screen son. We will remember your craft and talent and love of storytelling.'
SADNESS
Actor Kagiso Modupe said he was overwhelmed by sadness. "Today I understand the meaning of sadness and helplessness. I'm shocked, sad but mostly broken by your passing," he said. "I miss you already man. Mpho the Sebeng with the Bang Bang! I'm glad we shared the brotherhood love we had for each other, the love we had for God and our ancestors, but mostly the love we had for storytelling." He added, "I'm sad Mpho, I really am sad. The silence is too loud. Why now? There was still so much we needed to do. I was waiting for a wedding invitation, not this one my boy. I have no words just amazing memories and a sad tomorrow. Rest well, my brother."
