The late Vuyo Mbuli must be smiling in his grave. His son, songwriter, and singer Sthenkosi Mbuli dazzled fans at the North Sea Jazz Festival, in Rotterdam in the Netherlands. The North Sea Jazz Festival is an annual festival held each second week of July in the Netherlands.

FIRST TIME PERFORMING ABROAD

The young South African singer-songwriter made his international debut this past Saturday at the festival. Rudy Chalmers joined the live international band, The Nest during their set at the Mississippi Terrace on Saturday night. His guitar playing and vocals gained large appreciation from the international crowd and he gave a sneak preview of his upcoming release scheduled for August. Speaking to ZiMoja from the Netherlands, Rudy Charmers says this was the highlight of his career, the one he will never forget. "It feels so unreal, I have never thought in my wildest dreams that I would ever be performing at an international festival so early in my music career," he said. Rudy Chalmers dazzled alongside The Nest and fit like a glove in the music-loving jazz festival that says performing alongside big artists like Stormy, Seal, Gregory Porter, Loyle Carner, and Olivia Dean grace their stages over the course of the past weekend (7-9 July). Rudy says from now on, the world is his oyster, he says after sharing the stage with such big acts, he is inspired to do better. "I will utilise this opportunity to do better, during my time in Europe I will make sure that I connect with the right and relevant people," he adds.
