Molemo "Jub Jub" Maarohanye has filed an application to have his bail conditions relaxed in the rape and attempted murder charges he is accused of. Dressed in all black, Jub Jub made an appearance at the Johannesburg Magistrates Court today accompanied by his two uncles and two bodyguards.
GOING SOMEWHERE?
Jub Jub handed over his passport to the authorities after he was granted bail of R10 000 in July last year and he was also ordered to hand it over to the Brixton police. The musician and TV host is facing 13 charges including rape, indecent assault, assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and kidnapping. The matter was brought forward by three complaints who are in the public domain and were once partners of the accused. In his previous appearance, his defence Advocate Terrence Baloyi asked for a postponement to submit representation to the Director of Public Prosecutions. The state had indicated that their investigations were complete and that they were ready to proceed.
TO HEAR OUTCOMES
State Prosecutor Agnes Bezuidenhout did not oppose to the postponement and previously emphasised that they had completed their investigations and ready to proceed. "I have indicated to the defence that we have given them all the information that we could, and he said they will request for a further postponement. As the state we are not opposing that, however, the investigation to this matter has been completed a long time ago. The defence has been provided with an annexure to the charges, "she said. The magistrate presiding over the matter Betty Khumalo said," Mr Maarohanye your matter has been remanded for the purposes of your bail conditions to be relaxed on the 25th of April, however, I'm reserving the 13th of June for the outcomes of the Director of Public Prosecutions,"
