Vocalist and actor Mbuso Khoza is exiting Mzansi Magic's telenovela Umkhokha The Curse.
Khoza who hails from in Eshowe in the North Coast of KwaZulu Natal (KZN) announced his departure from the soapie on Wednesday through his social media pages where he thanked legendary award winning playwright and director ,Duma Ndlovu, for giving him an opportunity to showcase his talent. It is still unclear why his role was cut short on the soapie but close sources said that it is so he can focus on his new and soon to be launched Ndabezitha podcast,which will tackle more cultural issues affecting mostly the Zulu nation. "I keep getting messages about my role as Maphalala almost everyday, The contract I signed has ended and it has been a great journey for my growth as an artist."
"I'm grateful to Dr Duma Ndlovu for such an astounding opportunity. Never in my wildest dreams, did I imagine myself being on tv especially acting. With that being said, I felt it's important I take a moment and engage you on this. I'm looking forward to new opportunities as I remain grateful and hardworking," he wrote. Khoza played the role of Babu Maphalala in the telenovela, where he was very close with Inkosi uMvelase. " I absolutely regret nothing. Spending time on UMkhokha has been indeed life changing, it has revived my brand as a vocalist. I'm happy to count it as one of my favourite blessings. Kwande," he said.
