Emtee promises

Emtee says Empire Africa has not done anything for his career since signing to the label a year ago

Hip-hop bad boy Emtee, real name Mthandeni Ndevu, is gatvol of his record label, Empire Africa, after they allegedly bridged their contractual agreement. The Roll Up hitmaker took to social media yesterday to express his frustration, calling the last year the worst moment in his life.

FRUSTRATED

According to the rapper, it has been a year since he joined the record label but nothing has happened. "I have been signed to Empire for approximately 365 days now. I can't remember one thing that has been done for me by them. I organise my own shows," he said. Emtee also revealed that certain people have been stealing from him. "People steal from me so that they laugh and say "he lost it all" nah bi**h, you stole from me," he wrote. "The night before meeting the CEO which was 365 days ago, my supporters, family, friends and colleagues have been asking me about this album but I don't have answers," he added. He also said even though Ambitouz Entertainment was bad, they never kept him waiting for the whole year before he could release an album. "This has to be the worst moment in my life. I can't post anything without being asked by millions of supporters about the album," he added.

PREVIOUS TROUBLES

Emtee was previously signed to now allegedly liquidated Ambitiouz Entertainment and left a few years ago. At the time, he said he got frustrated with the label after he overworked himself, performing as many as six gigs in one night for a standard salary at the end of the month. The rapper announced his departure from Ambitiouz Entertainment in June 2019 and also revealed that his wife and children had moved in with his in-laws while he tried to find a new place for them after he lost his home and car. Meanwhile, another singer Dinky Kunene is still fighting a legal battle of the same calibre with the same record label after they allegedly failed to meet their contractual obligations by failing to deliver on their promises and sabotaging her success. The record label's Artists and Repertoire Innocence Nkosi did not answer our calls. He also blue-ticked us on Whatsapp.
