Family of man shot and killed in front of neighbour wants justice

The family of a young man who was shot and killed in front of his neighour wants justice. Musawenkosi Ndaba (22) from Freedom Park, outside Soweto, was shot three times on the chest and once in the neck on Saturday after an unknown man came looking for him.


NEIGHBOUR WITNESSED THE INCIDENT


The neighbour, who witnessed the incident and wished not to be named, told ZiMoja that the unknown man came to look for Musawenkosi at around 10:00 pm."I was about to sleep in my shack when I heard a knock. I opened it to find out who was at the door because when I asked who was at the door, the man never answered but he kept knocking. When I opened the door, the unknown man asked if Musawenkosi was staying with me in my shack," the neighbour said, adding that he accompanied the unknown man to Musawenkosi's shack as he claimed that he wanted his charger from him. "When we arrived, Musawenkosi opened the door, the man took four steps backwards and all of a sudden, shot him. Musawenkosi died instantly on the scene," the neighbour said. He said after shooting, the assailant ran away.


THE KILLER CLAIMED HIM AND MUSAWENKOSI WERE OLD BUDDIES


Msawenkosi's sister ,Nonjabulo Ndaba, told ZiMoja that the unknown man had claimed to the neighbour that they were old buddies. "The only thing my neighbour told us was that the unknown man was dodgy with answers when when he asked him questions on how he knew my brother. He never wanted to divulge his name but he was speaking IsiZulu. The same unknown man came back on Wednesday to look for another person who was not around. The name of the killer and his place is not known but we know his face, " she said. Musawenkosi will be laid to rest on Saturday.
