JEALOUS RAGE
According to Limpopo police spokesperson Colonel Stephen Thakeng, the 24-year-old deceased saw his girlfriend near an unknown male person, and in a jealous rage, assaulted her. The 16-year-old teenager managed to flee, but the boyfriend followed her and continued assaulting her. "She drew a knife from her bag and stabbed her boyfriend, who sustained serious injuries. He walked towards his home but succumbed to stab wounds at the corner of Moloantoa and Selemela in an open field at Modimolle," Thakeng said. He added that the deceased was found by his friend at the scene, and he was certified dead by paramedics on arrival.
TEEN TO APPEAR IN COURT ON MURDER CHARGES
Thakeng said a case of murder was registered for further investigation, and the teenage girl was arrested. "She will appear on 03 January 2024 in Modimolle Magistrates Court.'
Meanwhile, the police in Mogwase in North West are investigating a case of murder as well as an inquest following an incident where the two lifeless bodies were found in the veld at Lotwane Section in Ramokokastadt. Colonel Sam Tselanyane said the gruesome discovery was reported to the police on Monday, 30 December 2024. "It is alleged that members of the community were walking past that area when they discovered the male and female bodies. The female body was found lying naked next to a footpath in the veld with lacerated stab wounds on her neck. The victim's clothes and underwear were hidden about 30 meters deeper into the bush. About 20 meters from her body was the body of a male person hanging from a tree with a rope around his neck,' Tselanyane said. He added that police preliminary investigations revealed that the two were living together, but the woman had allegedly moved out due to domestic violence the previous week. "It was also confirmed that on the night of the murder and suicide incident, the murder suspect had phoned the victim to come and collect one of their children who was crying relentlessly and in need of her mother. The woman responded to that call, and that was the last time she was seen alive. The two were later identified as 38-year-old Khumo Moatshe and his 26-year-old girlfriend, Kefilwe Mosane, Tselanyane added.
