Former Afternoon Express presenter Thabiso Makhubela is a free man after being released from prison after being busted for shoplifting last year. He was also fired from his job when he was found in possession of cocaine on set. ZiMoja can exclusively reveal that the former GQ best dressed winner was released about a week ago and is said to be doing better.

Makhubela could not wait to announce his return from jail - sharing his freedom with his Facebook friends that he has to take some time off. 

He excitedly wrote: "Bathong boMeiskat! "Happy Tuesday. I haven't been here for some time, took some time to clear my mind. I'm back now, please inbox if you've been trying to reach out.." A source close to him revealed that Makhubela checked himself at a hospital in Hammanskraal, outside Tshwane.

HE IS WORKING ON HIMSELF 

According to the source, he was suffering at first but now he is doing well. The source said the media personality needed to work on a few things, such as anxiety and insomnia. "He is on the right track. He wanted to make sure that doesn't get triggered again. There is a lot he is going through and he needs to fix before he is out there," added the source. According to the source, Makhubela is still traumatised by the ordeal he went through but he is picking the pieces of his life. The source added, "Look, this industry is not kind to anyone. He has made mistakes and has learnt from them. He's changing for the better and accepted his past mistakes." Zimoja could not reach Makhubela for comment and his sister did not want to comment
