Veteran TV presenter and founder of Crown Gospel Music Awards is recovering in hospital after a successful procedure. The Ukhozi FM presenter was admitted to hospital last week Monday after she complained of chest pains and shortness of breath while at work.

According to a source at Ukhozi FM, Mbokazi had a health scare at the SABC Durban offices. "Paramedics were called to assist her after she struggled to breath and complained of chest pains," said the source, adding that, "Initially we thought it was heart attack but after doctors checked it turned out to be something around her stomach."

The source said the health scare has brought back memories of the late Ukhozi FM presenter Bheka 'Bheekay' Mchunu, who also had a health scare during the show in March. Mchunu died on March 12 after struggling with his health. 

When called for comment, her PR manager Nonjabulo Mdluli, confirmed that she is still in hospital after her minor operation. Mdluli also confirmed that her operation was a success but she is still under doctors' supervision. "The operation went very well and she is still in hospital," Asked what kind of operation she was went through. "Unfortunately, we can't divulge but it was nothing major," she concluded.
