The family of a young businesswoman who went missing after going to a salon are seeking answers after her body was found dumped in an open veld. Nothando Madubane (23) was preparing to go to Turkey to further her business studies.

WENT MISSING

Madubane went missing three weeks ago after she had gone to Berea in Durban CBD, KwaZulu Natal to have her hair fixed two days before she was due to travel to Turkey. Her body was found with multiple stab wounds more than a week after she went missing in Kenville in the north of Durban. She was running her catering and beauty spa businesses when the tragic incident happened. Madubane's sister, Nomzamo told ZiMoja that the family find it difficult to accept that they will not see her again. "The most painful thing about all of this is that she wanted to be successful in life and getting an opportunity to go to Turkey to further her studies was a dream come true," Nomzamo said. She said that her sister visited her a week before she went missing to say her goodbyes. "Judging by the way she wanted to see me before she left for overseas, it seemed like she knew that her days on earth were numbered," Nomzamo added. She added that Madubane leaves behind her four-year-old daughter and her parents. "This is the most painful thing because if we study the footage from the nearby stores, she looked like someone who had requested an e-hailling transport. Knowing how my sister was, I doubt that the person who killed her was alone. Looking at the stab wounds from behind and the front it seemed as if she was fighting with more than one person," she said.

HARD FOR HER PARENTS TO ACCEPT SHE IS NO MORE

Nomzamo said that it was painful for her to console her parents because they are always in tears. "This is the first time I am seeing my dad crying every day. I think when he looks at me, he sees Nothando because now I have to console him every day. My father has been there for all of his five kids, but I can tell that the pain of Nothando's passing really hurt him," she said. Nomzamo said that the family identified the body at the Phoenix Mortuary, and they are planning to lay her to rest on Saturday. The police are investigating a case of murder, and no one has been arrested.
