Two suspects have been arrested by the Hawks' Serious Corruption Investigation for trying to bribe an investigator. The suspects aged 40 and 42 from Ga-Rankuwa in North West allegedly tried to bribe the investigator with R10 000.
TRYING TO GET A SUSPECTED DRUG MANUFACTURER BAIL
According to Hawks spokesperson Captain Tlangelani Rikhotso, one of the suspects has a brother who has been in custody since 2022, following his arrest for alleged manufacturing of drugs. "The suspects were arrested moments after handing over R10 000 to the investigating officer of the drugs case. The money and the vehicle they used were seized for further investigation," Rikhotso said. Both suspects will make their first appearance before the Ga-Rankuwa Magistrates Court tomorrow, facing charges of corruption. Provincial Head of the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation Major General Patrick Mbotho lauded the investigating officer for displaying integrity beyond reproach.
