Over 300 rising stars queued outside AMPA Studios at Newtown Junction Mall to make their dreams come true. This was after a call by KOS Talent Management owned by businesswoman, and celebrity sangoma Tyra 'Gogo Manzini " Sindane to audition brand new talent to join the agency.

A STAR IN THE MAKING

Lining up for a chance at auditions were known and unknown actors, dancers, musicians, and voice-over artists being auditioned by actors Khayakazi Kula, Abdul Khoza, Brian Sindane, and model Emelda Gininda. "This was such an amazing day," Emelda said. "We knew South Africans were talented but to see so many young people perform with so much passion was breathtaking."

UPCOMING TALENT

Tyra, the owner of the agency says, she chose the judges based on their experience and authenticity. "They are passionate actors. They are real, authentic people, who love what they do and want to see others flourish," she says. "We were meant to finish at 3 pm, but they stayed and extended their time because they saw the hunger and the talent."

REFRESHING

Actress Khayakazi says she was blown away by the amount of talent. "So refreshing for our industry," she says. "Having to watch the auditions. Some reminded me of myself when I was starting as an actress, full of fire, hungry, and willing to learn." Abdul said, "Being able to be accessible and reachable to young actors was heartwarming. I started on Class Act, a TV show that opened doors for me, and I can only do my part to also give back to the industry that moulded me." Tyra concludes that the next auditions will happen in May, and they will select their top 50 actors, dancers, models, and voiceovers. "We will train these people, open them up to opportunities, and also try to get some local and international work."
