Sonia Mbele breaks her leg in a freak accident at home

Sonia Mbele has had a dramatic year

It doesn't rain but pours for well-known producer and entrepreneur, Sonia Mbele, who recently suffered an injury at home. She fell and hurt her toe and broke her leg. Speaking to ZiMoja, Mbele says she was forced to close her office early because she cannot walk. "I am home for the rest of the year," Sonia says that she slipped and fell down the stairs, resulting in her breaking her leg. "I am still in pain but I will be fine."

THE ATTACK

This comes shortly after she was attacked at upmarket Saints Restaurant in Sandton Johannesburg, where a guy snatched her wig and hit her back with it. A source close to the situation says Sonia is drained because a lot has happened to her this year. "She has had a long year full of drama," adds the source. She faced tax woes with SARS recently and was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease a few months ago after spending two weeks in hospital. The actress told ZiMoja that she is currently taking treatment. She said the disease has affected her in many ways both physically and emotionally and that she has had to change her diet and eating habits. "I had to quit alcohol and I now have to go for drips to make sure I have enough iron," she added.
