The adage that says "When days are dark, friends are few", rings true for controversial Afro Pop singer, Kelly Khumalo. Since she was linked to one of the men standing trial for the murder of the late Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa at the North Gauteng High Court, she has lost gigs.

SOMIZI IS LOYAL TO HIS PEOPLE

While everyone is calling for Kelly to be cancelled, one of her loyal friends, and socialite, Somizi Mhlongo is standing by her. He is staging a show titled Shades of Pink at Emperors Palace in Ekurhuleni on August 19. Somizi took a bold move to support his friend Kelly by adding her to his show next week Saturday. Kelly is the main attraction of the event, with her face adorning the poster of Shades of Pink. Kelly and Somizi have been close friends for over a decade. A close source to the two celebrities says Somizi is supportive of his friends, especially those who were there for him during his trying times after Mohale’s abuse claims. "Somizi does not go with what social media thinks, he stands his ground," adds the source.

SOMIZI WAS CANCELLED

Somizi, one of the popular radio and TV personalities in Mzansi, was cancelled in 2021 after he was accused by his former partner Mohale Motaung of physical abuse during an explosive interview.  However, the radio personality denied the allegations. Some of the people who have cancelled Somizi had to swallow a bitter pill when the media personality was getting booked for different gigs. Attempts to get comments from Somizi and Kelly drew a blank as both their phones rang unanswered and they failed to respond to our texts.
