Solly Moholo hospitalised

Solly Moholo is recovering on hospital

Legendary gospel star Solly Moholo has been admitted to a Botswana hospital after falling ill over the weekend. The Die Poppe Sal Dans singer was in the country to perform at a couple of gigs, launching his forthcoming album, Wubani O zo Pepeza.

HIS FAMILY ASK FOR PRAYERS

Moholo, real name Solomon Molokoane, had just performed in Botswana when he suddenly fell ill. His management team said: "Unfortunately, upon his return to his residence in Botswana, Ntate Moholo fell ill and had to be rushed to a hospital in Botswana. As we speak, his management team is still in Botswana until Solly Moholo makes a full recovery in the hospital. He is much better today than he was yesterday," the management said in a statement. His team said the family would like to humbly request that they keep Moholo in their prayers as he makes a full recovery. "We will keep you updated regarding any developments," said his PR team in a statement shared on his social media pages.

MUSIC SUFFERED DURING COVID-19

Moholo, who hails from Soshanguve, north of Pretoria, became a force to be reckoned with in the gospel industry when he released many hit songs like Ba Mmitsa Tsotsi, Tsoha Jonase Nice Time Ya Bolaya, Ranta e Wele and Mandela Ollela Bana. Before 2020, he took some time off from recording while he was doing philanthropy work by helping the needy and those living with disabilities through his Solly Moholo Foundation. He then released a single back in 2020, titled Palamente e Kgopla Merapelo. A popular artist with his dance troupe wearing a khaki uniform similar to that of the ZCC, Moholo was unable to promote his new music owing to the Covid-19 pandemic. Not a musician to be pigeonholed, Moholo made a comeback as an AmaPiano artist in 2022. With the hope of gaining younger fans, he released a new single titled Ntata Ake SaSepela. With the latest setback in Botswana, Moholo is hoping to reignite his music and career with more tours and performances outside the South African borders.
