Sekhukhune United soccer star, Shaune Mogaila, allegedly fled the scene after crashing his M2 BMW onto a mom and two children; 13-year-old and nine-year-old Tembisa today.
FATAL
It is unclear whether Mogaila was the one driving the vehicle, however, the car is said to be under his name and was left abandoned after the crash. The accident happened around 7am at Andrew Mapheto Road in Tembisa, where the nine-year-old was declared dead on the scene. The mom and 13-year-old were trapped in the car and had to be removed by emergency personnel.
NO ARRESTS
Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department spokesperson Thabiso Makgato told ZiMoja they found bottles of alcohol in the abandoned car at the scene. "The mother and child were trapped in the car. The nine-year-old girl passed away and the 13-year-old sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Tembisa Tertiary Hospital.The driver of the other vehicle could not be found.' The police also found a white "cocaine-like' substance and marijuana edibles in the abandoned vehicle. No arrests have yet been made and a case of culpable homicide, reckless and negligent driving and leaving the scene of the accident has been opened at the Tembisa South Police Station.
