A TS Galaxy FC bus transporting players and technical staff to Mbombela Stadium in Mpumalanga for their game against Mamelodi Sundowns tomorrow was involved in an accident with a VW Polo. The accident reportedly took place on the N4 today.
PLAYERS SURVIVED WITH NO INJURIES
It's reported that the players and technical team survived the accident with minor injuries while the driver of the other vehicle died on the scene. An eyewitness who spoke to ZiMoja said that the players were shocked and were still in disbelief after surviving with no injuries. The 2019 Nedbank Champions are scheduled to go head-to-head with Mamelodi Sundowns during the DSTV Premiership match tomorrow at 7:30pm at Mbombela Stadium.
BAD DAY FOR SOCCER
The Premier Soccer League and the team has not issued a statement on the accident. The Tim Sukazi-owned TS Galaxy is the second team to be involved in an accident after a Polokwane City bus collided with a 4x4 bakkie in September last year when their players were on their way to training. The news comes just hours after former TV commentator and Kaizer Chiefs legendary player Sphiwe Mkhonza passed away. Mkhoza passed away at home after battling kidney disease, his family confirmed.
