Xolani Khumalo was granted R20 000 bail by the Palm Ridge Magistrates Court today. This is after the Sizok'thola presenter handed himself over to the Katlehong North Police Station this morning. Khumalo is facing a murder charge after drug lord Robert "Kicks" Varrie died last month during filming of the show.

His foundation issued a statement via social media, saying, "The South African Police Services have requested that Xolani Khumalo hand himself over in connection with the incident that occurred in one of the last drug busts. Khumalo and the team operated to the strictest standards of professionalism when engaged in securing accountability from those that sell drugs and choose the communities in areas where they chose to operate . We rely on law enforcement to act with equity and fairness. Accordingly Xolani has handed himself to the police," the statement reads. The statement further said that Xolani and his Foundation respect the law and reject any form of vigilantism." National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Phindile Mjonondwane confirmed that Khumalo's bail was set at R20 000.
"The case was postponed to 19 October for further police investigations," Mjonondwane said.
